Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 29, 2026

Sanatana ("the app") is a minimal reader for Hindu sacred texts. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

Information We Collect

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. We do not require you to create an account or sign in.

Local Data

Your reading preferences (such as language, selected city for panchang, and onboarding state) are stored only on your device using your operating system's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Analytics

The mobile app uses Google Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate (for example, which texts are opened most often and which languages are selected). This helps us prioritize improvements. This website does not use analytics or tracking.

All data sent to Google Analytics is anonymized. It may include a randomly generated installation identifier, device model, operating system version, approximate region, and in-app events. We do not send your name, email, contacts, precise location, or the specific content of anything you read. The app does not use advertising SDKs.

For details on how Google handles this data, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data practices.

Permissions

The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.

Children's Privacy

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
